Our Society

ISPOR is a dynamic and global organization focused on health economics and outcomes research (HEOR).

Our core mission is to advance pharmacoeconomics for better healthcare decisions. Pharmacoeconomics helps us to figure out which medication give the best result for the best price, such that no life is left behind because of cost.

How We Function

We operate as a campus-based chapter under the broader umbrella of ISPOR global. This chapter comprises of 7 student-driven committees, functioning differently to achieve a common goal.

Our Members

ISPOR-HEOR UNN is home to a vibrant community of over 500 active members, passionate, forward-thinking students dedicated to advancing healthcare through research, innovation, and impact.

Our members represent diverse interests across pharmacy, medicine, public health, and related disciplines, yet we’re united by a common goal: to improve healthcare decision-making through evidence, data, and human-centered insights.

Within our chapter, members don’t just learn — they lead. From health policy discussions and research projects to community outreaches and professional development programs, ISPOR-HEOR UNN members are actively shaping the future of healthcare.

Each member is part of something bigger, a global network of changemakers redefining how science, economics, and outcomes research work together to make healthcare better for all.

Our Committees

Intellectual

This committee is responsible for organizing all the bi-weekly meetings for the session. They organize debates, quizzes, medix Spelling Bee, and Educative games aimed at educating and engaging it's members. They also organize health seminars during the meetings in association with IPHAC. They are also in charge of organizing Clinical trivia during ISPOR Health Week.

Media and publicty

This committee is in charge of creating broadcasts and social media messages to increase the public's awareness of ISPOR-HEOR, UNN brand. They handle the Email and Bulk SMS as well as all the social media pages such as the YouTube channel LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Telegram and Whatsapp.

Outreach and logistics

The Outreach and Logistics Committee leads ISPOR UNN’s efforts in community engagement and public health impact. The team organizes medical outreaches, awareness campaigns, and industrial trips, ensuring smooth coordination and meaningful participation. Through these activities, members gain hands-on experience while promoting health education and service within and beyond the university community.

Editorial

They are responsible for all the written content publications of ISPOR including the Faceporite Awards, ISPOR NEWS AND GISTS, D'ZINE, Health Digest, year book etc. Ensuring all publications are in line with the society's mission, vision and values. They also handle the Ispor website and conduct writing competitions

Welfare

They are in charge of the welfare of all Isporites ensuring they are taken care of especially during meetings, excursions, outreaches and industrial trips. They also ensure all Isporites are celebrated on their birthdays.

Research

The members of this committee form the research team of ISPOR-HEOR and they are responsible for carrying out all the research activities of ISPOR-HEOR. They are mandated to publish at least two health outcomes research articles by the end of the session.

IPHAC

They are in charge of all ISPOR-HEOR public health awareness campaigns within and outside the University community. They determine beforehand how best to celebrate each World health day as well as hold seminars to educate its members and the public. IPHAC is also responsible for the most anticipated and campus wide health gists every Fridays by 6pm coupled with other health campaign activities deploying social media means like podcasts and street interviews. They also host a talk show known as "Health Quake" where all controversial health topics are dissected and debated on to help teach the public regarding the chosen topics.

At ISPOR-HEOR UNN, impact is at the heart of everything we do. Through our outreach programs, research initiatives, and health awareness campaigns, we’ve reached over 20 communities and schools, touching the lives of more than 10,000 people across different regions.

From promoting health education and preventive care to advancing conversations around healthcare access, our members continue to bridge the gap between knowledge and real-world change.

Each outreach, seminar, and community project is a step toward a healthier society — where informed decisions, compassion, and science work hand in hand to improve lives.
